Illinformed and that boom-diggy we love

Illinformed has High Focus when it comes to Production Specs, indeed

Two Mave The Masked Jedi 04/08/2017

Enter Illinformed, the British dude with a High-Focus on beats.

Those who follow us will remember one of our raids that reviewed the beautiful Verb T record produced by Illinformed.
I thought of asking the usual questions for our Production Specs column to the English producer, to get closer to a name that in Italy is still little known, if not through the work he has done with the members of High Focus (like the aforementioned record with Verb T or the most recent Fliptrix disc, both completely produced by him).

Let’s face it: Illinformed is an excellent producer, able to create refined bangers with that jazzy and very dark vibe, always coming up with a sound that winks at the classic but without exaggerating. Whether they are records of his cronies (Lee Scott, Creatures of Habit, Sonnyjim) or American artists like Jedi Mind Tricks or Ras Kass, his brand is above all a guarantee of good taste. Unfortunately, his answers to our questions haven’t been as eloquent as his beats, or perhaps his seriousness in responding is not equal to his skill in making music. But anyhow, we report them to you as written by him, in his Albionic style. Illinformed, straight outta RLD Records, directly from his home in Production Specs.

First commercial beat sold/placed:
Jedi Mind Tricks Chalice was my first production, big up Vinnie Paz!

How long did it take you to produce something that you were proud of:
Uh, I dunno, tuff to say, maybe like a year or 2 till started to get my head around things thou.

Favourite production set-up:
Dunno, really like probably a computer and a bass guitar…

Best digging advice from someone ever:
Look for the naked women on the cover!

Producer, in the last 3 months, that made you say: “Oh, shit, I have to go back to the lab!”:
4th Disciple.

Your worst production mistake ever made:
Uh, I dunno, there’s been so many Ahah! I try not to send them out tho.

One essential mixing tip:
Don’t think too much.
